Confirmation: [1]

Ooo. It ought to be fun to have Natsume around again. Shino being around should be interesting, too. Do you have a picture confirming the other Azure Knights as party members? I didn't find one myself.

Sorry, forgot to add the signature. Not used to this yet. <.<;; --SicInfit 19:25, 9 November 2006 (UTC)SicInfit

Any chance of shrinking that picture? --CRtwenty 19:26, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Removed the .jpg at the end of the link. Add it when you've shrunk it. Anyway. Molto importante: SOURCE! And why is there black scribbles everywhere? I must see Tenrow behind teh black scribbles. ;_; -Amaethon
Changed that address to a link to the .jpg, much better that way and easier to look at. Interesting picture, though as mentioned beforehand I'de like to know the source of this aswell... plus the mass blackout, which is abviously done by someone... since they missed some parts and covered Azure Kites legs. --Phoenix 20:12, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
There's lots of questions about the validity of this picture. From what I can tell somebody found it on a JP fansite and posted it on Dothackers. So nobody knows if it's authentic. I've seen several versions of it, some of which were obviously photoshopped. So I think we should hold off on the "ZOMG NATUMSE IN VOLUME 3" stuff until we can verify this. Though the Natsume picture at least does seem real imo. --CRtwenty 22:28, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
I posted it on Dothackers in antsyness to see if this was fake or not. <_<Did you see any versions with Tenrawr? :O -Amaethon
It's confirmed by the full scan. Natsume is real. Sirius isn't even hinted as a party member as of yet, so I;m afraid we'll all have to wait to see if Tenrawr will join. Bulletcatcher

Idea

I have a question: Shouldn't it be "at a walking pace" instead of "distance"?--Makaikoushi 16:21, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

These are all tentative titles. Kulaguy 17:13, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Has there been any mention of this title from any official-ish English source? In Japanese, the word is 速さ, meaning "speed". Also, "distance" makes no sense. --Shinsou Wotan, 23:30, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
The volume 2 and 3 titles are just temp names until official titles are made. Kulaguy 23:54, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, it bugs me too, but there's no real point in going through everything and changing things twice. This is also the reason the article Reid is named the way it is... Unless someone has a script for doing that. That would change everything. - Kuukai2 00:37, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Introduced Characters

Wouldn't Tabby be considered "introduced", since she was never mentioned before in G.U.? Bulletcatcher

Roots. She's even in a background in the first game.--OtakuD50 21:48, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
If that were the case, Shino wouldn't be on the introduced list on Rebirth. Bulletcatcher
Introduction goes by our timeline, Rebirth was released before Roots, so Shino is on the list. --CRtwenty 23:02, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
As confusing as I made it out to be, First Appearance goes by release timeline. Personally, I think we should just add Tabby into the list since this is her first actual appearance in the GU Games. Either that or we change "Introduced Characters" to another title. Kulaguy 23:51, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
In Japan, the only place where everything actually has been (or will be) released, Roots came out first. You've said it's by trailers or something before, which I guess works, though it's weird, and you can't really say "release order"... - Kuukai2 02:50, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
I think Tabby has just as much reason to be on the list as Natsume and Shino, since it was when she was first introduced in G.U.. It's on a G.U. page, what is in Roots shouldn't matter, even though it is a prequel. Bulletcatcher
We don't have Sieg, Crim, Bear, etc. as introduced characters in any of the pages for the original games.--OtakuD50 02:05, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Roots and Rebirth were released at around the same time, (Roots first in Japan, Rebirth first in NA), so it makes sense for certain characters introduced in Roots to also count as being "introduced" in Rebirth. However, Roots was over before the 3rd game, so it makes no sense to say Tabby and anyone else from Roots were introduced in the 3rd game. So far the only character I would deem actually introduced in this game is GU Natsume.--OtakuD50 01:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Should we change this to just 'Appearances' and state their appearance in each anime/game/manga/ect. --Phoenix 01:42, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Preview

I found a preview video if this helps with anything.[2]--Coolkid602006 23:04, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Before someone demands evidence. - Biccy 22:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

video link

why don't you add the link to the marriage/closer scenes to the trivia? That way people won't think it a lie.

.... It's RIGHT ABOVE YOU. LIKE, SERIOUSLY. --Biccy 20:21, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
.... I know it's right above me. I'm just suggesting that it should be made a part of the actual article, as a person who doesn't go into the discussion page might think it a lie and erase it.
First of all, we shouldn't put copyrighted videos on articles. Secondly, we'll just revert things back if anyone changes it.--Bulletcatcher 05:00, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree, most people are aware that this event exists by now anyway. So I don't see reverting to be much of an issue. --CRtwenty 05:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, wasn't aware that they were copyrighted, as they were in japanese.

Storyline

the game is out in japan, right? shouldn't we be able to scrounge up a few more details for the story and packaging? The page seems a little bland and empty.

Because most of us don't live in Japan... so we don't have the game. --CRtwenty 17:39, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Redemption

That was me who made all the Redemption edits, I just forgot to log in. Yeah, my contact at Bandai slipped me the name. He's putting an arena enemy in the english version named after me, hehe. ~ Ichida

Prove it then. Kulaguy 01:30, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
I didn't get it off of "a crappy site." I got it off of Bandai's marketing director, Aaron Krause, who hired me as the moderator for the official forums. <.< Fine, don't believe me. I'll leave the tedious task of doing it all over again in a month or so to you. ~ Ichida
Why not just post the email then? Kulaguy 13:39, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
It wasn't an email, it's an Adobe document; the release he sent to insert my character into the english release of volume 3 lists the title ".hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption." The exact phrasing of the first paragraph goes as such:

"Because of your efforts in connection with the .hack video game franchise, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., decided to name a non-playable character in the up coming title .hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption after you. This release, when signed..." blah blah legal stuff. You can tell it's from Bandai due to the fact that they used busin00b grammar like "up coming" in it. <.<;; ~ Ichida

So will you be listed as a minor pc?--Kite X 17:43, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Then why not upload it so we can see? --CRtwenty 17:49, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Because it's bullshit. If he truly was getting an NPC named after him he'd post it on the official GU boards so all the n00bs there could suck up to him and call him "Ichida-sensei" and other Japanophile crap, while giving him a smug sense of superiority. If it really is real, then just post it. Otherwise, you're just giving me more reason to dislike you. Kulaguy 23:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
It's quite possible that the "blah blah legal stuff" includes a bit about not posting the release agreement publicly, or something of the sort. I know that certain documents I have received relating to various matters have had similar clauses. --Shinsou Wotan 01:14, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Then he can just easily remove it with MS Paint. Kulaguy 02:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

He probably did there's no reason anyone shouldn't belive him. Oh yeah upload I wanna see too.--Kite X 00:23, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I have seen stuff like this before, and it's not true at all.--Daipenmon 01:20, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I highly doubt they're gonna waste money and resources coding in an entirely new NPC named after a goddamned moderator for a forum, official or not. Do they even pay you? Not at all. What incentive would they have to give you such an honor? I doubt you stopped some horrible virus or something. You're full of shit, and I'm usually not one to talk. --AuraTwilight 03:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I think we should all stop being player haters and give props to Ichida for this achievement.--Kite X 03:59, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

There's a party of extra arena PCs made during the fan festival that could easily be renamed, and CC2 probably passed along the system used to make them, too. I doubt the localization team cares too much what they're named, and is extending this as a favor to the fans who helped them and it would actually mean something too. It really costs them nothing to do. I trust Ichida, he has no reason to lie, but I agree that we need evidence. If he's talking about it, though, that's probably as much of a breach of any non-disclosure clause as uploading the whole document... - Kuukai2 05:44, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Regardless, until we get some sort of proof it's not going up here. That's always been our policy. --CRtwenty 08:37, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Your trust is staggering. Can't say I'm surprised. *Throws hands up in defeat* Fine. I'll just let you wait for the game and then smirk behind you. I suppose I should follow my instruction to make you aware that altimitcorp.com is going to be holding a contest sometime soon to name one of said arena team after whoever wins. ~ Ichida
