Form Zero

Someone needs to explain what Form Zero is in the article. I only see a passing reference in the trivia and a gallery entry.--OtakuD50 19:46, March 18, 2010 (UTC)

It's basically the original design for Haseo. It's the one (first form) with the cloak, but not the same as the sleeves/trailer. I removed the description because it was taking space in the article. It was in the apperance section like a form so... Form Zero was mentioned in .hack//G.U. Archives.Outlaw630 20:25, March 18, 2010 (UTC)

GU novels

ok so in the novels he remembers his past as Sora? can someone explainme this , i dont care about spoilers--Dark Knight Sparda

Haseo shares a complex relationship with Ovan. He originally respected Ovan, but soon hated him due to Ovan leaving the Twilight Brigade. Haseo reacts strongly whenever Ovan is involved in anything. Haseo soon hated Ovan even more when he found out Ovan was Tri-Edge. Yet, after Ovan activated the Rebirth, Haseo was crushed when Ovan left him. Haseo soon mourned internally about Ovan, and wanted Ovan to stay with him. This is evident in the Forest of Pain, where the AI Harold allows Haseo to make a wish, and Haseo wishes to speak to Ovan. Their relation is shown to be comparable to that of a father and son. This is also possible because of Ryou's (Haseo) father never being around, and therefore would be natural for Ryou to look up to Ovan as a father figure.

Haseo was originally attracted to Shino in a romantic way, though Shino didn't reciporacate Haseo's feelings. Still, Haseo was deeply hurt when Shino became a Lost One. After Shino's awakening, Haseo shares a sisterly relation with her, often talking to her about Ovan, and wanting Haseo to follow his heart and go with Atoli.

Haseo once found Atoli annoying due to her pacifistic ideals and her devotion to Sakaki, coupled with her using a character similar to Shino's. At first, Haseo planned to just use her to enter the Arena and defeat Endrance, though over time, he eventually began to care about her. He fought alongside her during the Arena tournaments and searched vigorously for the AIDA that stole her Epitaph. She also fought alongside Haseo against Ovan and Cubia. Along the way, she changed Haseo from being heartless and cold, to being more compassionate about others. This change was two-way and she too changed into being more confident and opening up to others. It is unknown, yet heavily implied, if they start a romantic relation.

Silabus & Gaspard

After Haseo was Data Drained, he met these two members of a guild called Canard. Originally planning to use them to boost his levels, Haseo pretended to be friends with them. However, he soon came to like the duo and became their guildmaster and genuine friend. Haseo ocassionally got mad at them for their happy attitude, but they always made up. Haseo personally made it a point in his life to protect them. They share a brotherly bond in which they rely on Haseo for support and vice-versa.

Originally they two did not get along, as they had completely different view and personalities. Kuhn always lectured Haseo about the danger of using an Avatar too recklessly. Haseo ignored Kuhn though, and was traumatized when he saw Skeith beating Kuhn and Magus mercilessly with Haseo powerless to stop. After that incident, the two made up and became closer. When Kuhn left G.U., Haseo became Kuhn's partner in exterminating AIDA. Kuhn also fought alongside Haseo during the Cubia incident. Kuhn seems to take Haseo in as a little brother, and Haseo also respects Kuhn, though does draw the line with Kuhn's flirtatious attitude.</nowiki>

Storing this here until issue is decided useful. Kulaguy 03:36, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

What you said was very useful, but yeah, it really is complex how it all works out doesn't it? This was somewhat explained as Haseo was getting his Xth-form. It was very indirect since it summed up every one of them rather then individually. lol.

Yeah, Haseo and Ovan that don't seem to make very much sense at all...

Let's just say for that it's like Tidus and Jecht from Final Fantasy X. Tidus always hated him, and yet Jecht tried to love him and tell Auron to take care of him, despite the fact that Jecht is a drunk piece of crap and he thinks he's just a no good crybaby which might be true though. lol.

lol. He cried when he said he hated him and he beat him up or like, well, killed him in the end. Sad... it's as if he tried to like him for being his father but that was just... pretty much impossible.

The way Ovan used Haseo was... hmm... no matter how evil it sounded, it all worked out, and Ovan was the mastermind behind everything. It's funny you know, since Ovan is the Rebirth, in which Corbenik came last as a phase, and Haseo is the Terror of Death and he comes first.

Ovan knows a lot, and Haseo knows so little... so Ovan had to trick him and have the whole thing played out. And... it worked... as amazing as his thing was. And even his Rebirth power was a so called Gamble, and even that turned out just perfectly, despite the new threat which is Cubia. They stopped Cubia before it could really do worth crap. XD

Dude, Cubia was like ten times worse then he was in the original games, even coming AFTER Corbenik rather then before. Like, what the heck was that about?

Well, according to the original games, it makes more sense that Cubia was actually supposed to become AFTER Corbenik even from there, but it didn't and they seemed to do that for dramatic effect.

.Hack as we know it might have changed completely if it wasn't for that... poor Aura always dies... :( But she always gets reborn, so it's more okay then you would think. ^^

Whether it's fortunate or unfortunate, I don't know, but I never got too emotional over sad stories, but they literally do have an impact on my heart. Poor Lycoris! T_T The saddest thing was Misuzu dying in Air, omg... I loved that girl so much... but I never cried. I could have though, maybe even should have, even though she's... well, you know... lol.

But yeah, I can't even really explain the rest of this... relationship stuff Haseo has at all.

Akuma Uchitoru 08:58, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey guys I'm late, lol. Anyway, it's nearly impossible to form a 100% factual evaluation on any of the relationships between mostly all of the characters in G.U. The above evaluation is good, but there are a lot of opinions on the relationships that were brought up. Haseo never hated Ovan :( Hate's such a strong word, lol. For example, to say(or even imply) that Atoli is the only person who changed Haseo is going a bit too far, since it was really a joint effort between all the characters. I don't think we should be putting evaluations on this article (or any article, for that matter), which should be restricted to cold-hard facts. Evaluations are fun and interesting, but they can lead someone on the wrong path. Also, as for the article itself, it's quite unnecessary to put that Haseo had a crush on Atoli. I really think that's just some HaseoxAtoli fan trying to prove that a relationship in this series is canon because they put some of their implications on a wiki article, hahaha ;) To be honest, it's really impossible to say any pairing is canon. I guess you could call this game a "Shipper's delight". Everything is only implied, but never really said, and the only time an actual relationship occurs is in non-canonical media, so I think some aspects of this article should be revised. Arukki 03:00, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

People don't seem to mind, though if you really want just get the chart from .hack//archives 2. There's a list connecting Haseo's relationship to each character. I don't understand it that much but its another route. Outlaw630 05:05, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. That's been bugging me for ages, actually. It muddles up different storylines by talking about an offline meeting, and the part about him blushing when Atoli hugs him is irrelevant, because he also blushes after the fight with Tarvos, when Pi says 'that's the first time you've said my name'. It's been written with a very obvious bias, and I'd like to edit it out, I just don't want a bunch of shippers getting on my case for it. ElysianStars 01:59, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Prototype Haseo

I added a picture of Haseo's prototype form, as he appears in the trailer here:

If anyone has a description or better picture, feel free to change it...and if you want to, take it out I suppose... Honey

What? Katars?

Dude... I doubt those are katars... It's just Haseo's hands stretched. Does that call for a revert or is it confirmed? ... because imo that's not even trivia... it's a guess.--Gundam Fan 11:24, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Well, is this relevent at all? pHASEo. Phase. Haseo. p-Haseo. See it? The last four letters of Phase are the first letters of Haseo's name. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, right? (

How is this relevant to begin with?-- 17:20, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Pure coincidence. --Shinsou Wotan 21:01, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

lol. WTF, I didn't even realize that honestly! XD That's... odd... I forgot what it said in the trivia where the name come from, or where even Sora came from. Something about... a real person I think. lol. pHASEo. lol. Where does the o come from then? That's what I really want to know. lol. I think pure coincidence is probably true. ^^ Akuma Uchitoru 09:04, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

No, he doesn't. He has the requirements to join, but like Endrance, he didn't. Kulaguy 01:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't know the exact quote but the quote I added happens around the time Haseo starts shouting at Atoli. Anyone able to get the exact wording? Kulaguy 00:05, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

I just checked and it's right. GoZero

Wow, this is going to be a LONG page when we're done with it. Any ideas of how to make it more readable? Maybe subsections or multiple pages or something? --CRtwenty 22:55, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Maybe it's because it's describing pretty much EVERYTHING that happens to Haseo. Reduce the GU+ section and others. There's no need to describe everything Haseo goes through. Thorough descriptions are usually meant for episode pages. Kulaguy 00:05, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

The infobox is too big. It obscures the writing... How do I shrink it? (Not good with wikia software...)

The infobox isn't big. It's either your screen resolution or because you're looking at a page with barely any info on it. Look in the recent changes. Nothing has been changed with the Characters Infobox. Kulaguy 22:26, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

On th JP VA it says Haseo was Takahiro but for Sieg its Takahiko. Which is it? Also on Sieg talk page.

Episode 26

I was just re-watching the final episode and noticed a little something at the end when we see Haseo and Skeith at Arche Koeln Falls, doesn't this seem quite similar to the 'X Form' from the preview for Vol 3. --Phoenix 22:54, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah. There was a lot of debate over that but we're pretty sure it was a translucent shadow of Xth Form, which is why it wasn't entirely white. ~ Ichida

lol. Yeah, the end of Roots and the beginning of G.U. ... it's hard to tell which alterations are more canon but I always figured it was the latter, such as how Haseo reacted when he went down to level 1. He freaked in the games, but in the Roots he was like "Huh, what? Level 1?" and also said for some reason "There's too many human interactions in this game..." lol. I watched Roots subbed before Dubbed came out. I think it's because Roots stopped being recorded for some reason... lol. I hate how Roots comes on early in the morning... like way too early... lol. I wonder if it's because it comes on at a good time in Japan and the... no, that makes no sense... Japanese and English versions and... I give up. lol.

But yeah. lol. Guess this definitely doesn't matter too much, but Haseo and Azure Kite fighting each other... the way it was in the games and the way it was in the show... hmm... lol. The way it was in the games was so much cooler! :D

Akuma Uchitoru 09:12, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, there is the G.U. Trilogy... And it still has it's differences when Haseo and Azure Kite fought, somehow his movements were faster than the games. I watched it in youtube and the big difference is in the end... Haseo saving Ovan?? Mdupaya 02:50, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

In today's dub ep, "Breakup", Haseo looked up when Ovan was screaming, and said he thought he heard someone calling him. Tabby suggested it was his parents, but he said he doesn't live with them anymore. Is that in the Japanese version (the actual JP version, not fansubs. The ones people go by seem littered with errors) or is it a dub mistake? - Biccy 18:51, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it is. Haseo lives away from his parents now.--AuraTwilight 21:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Haseo this..Haseo that...

Why is eveyone concerned about some guy with a crappy attitude and on a blinding mission of revenge? We need to focus on the real hero Kite.

... And we return to you spamming. :/ You were doing good too. For two posts, but still. - Biccy 03:40, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Kite's story is done. The whole point of GU is basically a character study of Haseo's developing psyche. (Well, besides the AIDA and the Ultimate AI ressurection thing, but y'know.) --AuraTwilight 03:43, 29 January 2007 (UTC) NOOOO Kite's story is'nt over there's still so many questions that need to be answered!!!--Kite X 03:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm inclined to say "deal with it" since I don't see why they'd want to elaborate on Kite's background.--SicInfit 04:06, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

No offense, but what you said was kind of dumb, since there's plenty of main protagonists in the .Hack series. This basically means that there's more then one character. Who the heck cares if Kite is the overall best hero out of them all. They each did their part, right?

Besides, Haseo's character development is amazing. It doesn't look like their has been much change, but deep down, he really has become a nicer and greater person, since he became a LOT more sociable, rather then some emo loner that didn't care about anything.

You know, in a way, Haseo is exactly like Tsukasa except Tsukasa is more on the depressed side and Haseo is like angry as hell. The both of them though are like... yeah... loners who don't really want to deal with like, anybody...

Haseo and Tsukasa both start caring over time... and I don't blame for not liking some people. There's many types of people and some... are either impossible for some people to handle or they just take some time getting used to, you know?

Even Haseo and Tsukasa take some time getting used to. It's hard... but eventually they become the awesome person they really needed to be all along. ^^ But you know, Tsukasa, though maybe not Haseo, has been mistreated maybe not in the game, but in real life a lot, which is really sad... Tsukasa is really nice, but his bitterness of the past is what makes him a jerk.

Overall, I think the fictional character that relates to me the best is definitely Tsukasa. Funny, Tsukasa is a girl in the real world. lol. And well... even the voice actor is actually a girl but she makes a pretty good guy's voice. But yeah... I always got along with girls more. Besides, Crim is like that too. ^^ lol. It was a bit funny hearing him say that.

A lot, maybe even most guys seem to be... yeah... lol. supposedly my Astrology signs, whether or not their even true, state that my signs are Feminine. lol. Tsukasa doesn't even seem that much of a Tomboy even if Tsukasa really is a girl... lol. It's like with Haruhi in Ouran High School Host Club. lol. The way she looked in the very beginning. XD "Haruhi is a guy I think. No wait, no she's not! It's a girl! OMG!" lol. Erm... anyways, the difference in her appearances were quite different, and in the beginning she really did look like an it.

Akuma Uchitoru 09:24, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Is any of this true?

I found a topic on dothackers with a link to a picture of a book, that had some... interesting info to say the least, but seeing as I don't speak japanese, I need Kuukai or someone else to check it out, to make sure it isn't just dothackers junk. Here's the dothackers topic.

I asked Niu the source, but my suspicion is that it's true. I don't know who would go out of their way to print a fake book and take pictures, and it does indeed indicate Sora = Haseo. Also, Wiseman's name is Takumi Hino, and Bo is Iori Nakanishi. This is very surprising, but I buy it a lot more than the "Taihaku is Balmung" info, which of course didn't even have pics... This would also explain why the "Skeith" part of Haseo acted kinda like Sora... - Kuukai2 18:20, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't buy the Sora=Haseo theory... Sora clearly remembered everything that had happened to him in Unison. Why would Haseo have fogotten? Seems like a fake to me. --CRtwenty 19:24, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
For now I'll just say that I have my doubts about its authenticity. Either it's so new that the names haven't yet been put anywhere that Google has seen them, or it's fake. --Shinsou Wotan 20:51, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
It's at least the former, the first mention of this was like a day and a half ago. Google doesn't crawl that fast. As far as I can tell the story is corraborated by people on the official BBS. I'm trying to get Niu to explain the source of the pictures. This definitely seems more legitimate than the thing Kadaaju was talking about, though. - Kuukai2 22:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Haseo didn't even know what PKing was in the first episode of Roots. There's no way he's Sora unless he got some convienent magic amnesia. --AuraTwilight 01:59, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I take it that by "convenient", you mean "no memory of anything related to The World in any way"? --Shinsou Wotan 02:07, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Indeed, that and it's a "convenient" plot device to make him totally forget about Za Warudo in it's entirety, right down to what the heck a Dungeon is, when there's no reason to have Amnesia in the first place. If there was such a case of amnesia, it would've been mentioned in the series itself, not a supplemental book. --AuraTwilight 04:46, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Exactly... I've heard some farfetched theories about .hack before... but this one isn't plausible at all. --CRtwenty 05:13, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, it's (un)official. This info is now endorsed by my favorite Japanese wiki dude, who is very, very good at keeping out unconfirmed crap (and noting rumors if they exist, as rumors). If he says it, I'm 100% certain that this book is a valid source. - Kuukai2 06:05, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
How!? How the hell does it work? You can say "Oh this valid source says it" all you want. But for something this big at least give us some transcripts or proof. --CRtwenty 06:26, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Pics are the gold standard here. Sakubo's name: [2] Yata's name: [3] I'm not adding anything about Haseo because it's still possible that he was just some random victim or something. I wouldn't say the information in this book is unreliable though, we added all the information from the last fanbook. Given that this book clearly exists, and it's endorsed, if it were wrong it would represent an unprecedented failure of quality control in canon-related .hack info, the Japanese version of the Liminality Easter Eggs. Analysis makes some mistakes, but never anything like "Crim lives on the moon and eats magical berries all day long". Also, how much more than pictures of the pages do we need for "transcripts or proof"? - Kuukai2 06:47, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't usually chime in, but I just wanted to point out a few things. Specifically: 1) that as far as I am aware, none of us has held this book, thus it cannot certainly be said to "exist" beyond doubt, and 2) that until this is confirmed beyond doubt, I do not feel that this information can be added to the wiki. My personal feelings aside, the controversy around this alone is enough to keep this out, at least for the time being. There is too much new information which, while it may not conflict with old data, is extremely jarring in many ways. That's my two cents. --Rintaun 06:53, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Those pictures count as proof for the names. But considering this whole Haseo thing really makes no sense I think a translation of the page in question is needed. --CRtwenty 06:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
To be entirely honest, I don't necessarily feel that the pictures *are* enough proof. I really think it's all or nothing, at this point. It will not hurt to wait a bit longer until this actual, physical book is more widespread (has it even actually been released yet, or is this a leak?). There are a lot of things that we still don't know.. for example: assuming that this book is legitimate, and the data in it is correct.. what the hell ELSE is in it? O_o This is already pretty earthshaking, imo... --Rintaun 07:00, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
It's a strategy guide. The sheer number of people who are claiming they have held it (including the wiki dude) indicates it does exist, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Just because the people saying so are Japanese and not members of this wiki shouldn't change too much, enough independent people are talking about it. If I said I had it right now, how much better would that be than the word of the anal-retentive wiki guy? Not much, in fact I think I'd trust me less... Aside from the Haseo thing, nothing really "conflicts" with the new info... Well, even the Haseo thing doesn't conflict given every other screwy continuity thing about G.U... But, regardless, the book exists, as definitely as if I were holding it. If it's fake it's the most elaborate publishing retail hoax thing I've heard of in my life, and someone's getting sued... Ok, gimme a second and I'll translate the Haseo thing. Aren't you like a scanslator or something though? - Kuukai2 07:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
I think you're misunderstanding my intentions. My intent is not to question the reliability of any person, yourself included. While I would definitely appreciate translations, that's not exactly what I'm looking for. And yes, I am a translator.. but I'm not as good at reading Japanese as I could be, to be entirely honest. What really matters to me is this: when / how can the rest of us get access to this book? Has it been published publicly yet? What book is it from? It's from a strategy guide? That's definitely a step in the right direction. But basically, I'd just rather confirm the actual source material (not necessarily the content) before making any decisions, because as of this moment, I've only seen photos or scans of small portions of pages at a time. Dunno, maybe I'm just being too big a skeptic. --Rintaun 07:19, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Fuzzy translation: He goes to a famous private school and his father is an executive at a major company, so he can do anything, regardless of cost. In spite of this, he often feels restless. After seeing an ad, he starts playing The World R:2. Before, when playing The World, he was data drained by Skeith. However, he has no recollection of the past surrounding his coma.
Actually, the translation was a response to CRtwenty's request. Also, I just remembered, I think it was the first fanbook that said that when he saw the ad, he felt a "strange nostalgia". As for the book, I'm pretty sure it's the Vol.3 Strategy guide, though I'm trying to get this info. Either way, it's not a hoax, you can tell. There was an earlier hoax where people claimed there was a book that said Taihaku was Balmung. Not only was that less possible than Sora being Haseo, but there was no chatter about it on the official BBS or any wiki, and no pics. This one has all the indications that it's true. - Kuukai2 07:27, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmm.. Looking around on the internet, I came across these two items on amazon jp... They're basically Vol.1 and 2 "Complete Guides"... could this book be Vol.3's complete guide? (Note: I have nfi what's actually *in* these books XD)--Rintaun 07:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

That's my best guess, yeah. It comes out "second half of February", but that's the kind of thing that could easily be put out early. Either that or it's the Perfect Guide, but that's not supposed to come out for a month after the Vol. 3 one. People are saying "strategy guide" though. - Kuukai2 07:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Then prove it exists, Kuukai. No, I don't want pics of small portions of the "book" that could be easily made with a bit of computer graphics work, printing and then scanning to make it look "authentic". What I want is proof the book exists by posting the cover. Pics nao or it didn't happen. Kulaguy 14:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Ok, here. Also the Amazon site to wipe away any conspiracy theories you have about the first one. They don't have the cover pic up yet, but that's meaningless since that's true for last December's issue of The World too. Anyway, it exists. It's .hack//G.U. Vol.3 Aruku You Na Hayasa De: The Master Guide. It was released on the 6th (in Japan time). It's the sequel to this guide. FYI, the summary on that site even says, "登場人物の本当の姿がわかるキャラクターガイドや": "and also a character guide that reveals the truth behind the characters."- Kuukai2 20:05, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
While Haseo MAY have been one of Skeith's victims (which I doubt... even with his memory erased he would still remember playing The World, or there would have been some mention of it by now), there is no way he could be Sora. We saw Sora in Unison, with his memory very much intact. Even the AI copy of his remembered everything. Haseo either never played The World, or doesn't remember playing The World, something we know Sora does. Therefore Haseo can not be Sora. --CRtwenty 21:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Especially when you consider Haseo didn't know what the hell PKing was when he first began. My personal opinion on the matter is that maybe he was screwing on his friend's computer, Skeith came and messed him up, friend mourns a bit but keeps playing, and Haseo is never registered because as far as officials can tell, the "player" of the PC is fine and dandy. --AuraTwilight 23:34, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I know it's unlikely, but what about the possibility of the Sora in Unison being the A.I. copy from the games? I know that doesn't explain what happened to the A.I. versions of Subaru and Tsukasa, but it would offer atleast some explanation as to how he's able to become Haseo.

Not to sound stupid but...what if Unison was just non-cannon? --Sanjuro

What if the entire series was non-canon? That solves all of our problems. But there's no evidence that Unison is non-canon, and I think trying to claim it is just to prove an unreliable theory right is a rather stupid thing to do. --CRtwenty 17:55, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
"Unreliable theory" is odd phrasing, CR, considering Haseo=Sora is quite official.

Hey, I don't want to believe Haseo is Sora. But according to a lot of people on the official Japanese G.U. forum, it clearly states in the new perfect guide that haseo is infact Sora. --Sanjuro

This page is too freaking long, mostly cause of the games section. We need to do what we did with Kite and just briefly summarize what Haseo did in the games. Leaving the big explanation on the individual game pages. --CRtwenty 23:18, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

A lot of it is wrong too. I'll work on this. - Kuukai2 23:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

No no no thats completely wrong. This wikia is here as a source of information for people trying to find out about the series etc, it's not here because you want to quickly skim through it, if anything the wikia should elaborate more on games--Yondaime1987 19:43, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Alright, I'm new to both .hack and Wiki in general, so if this doesn't go here, sorry. But I was wondering how Haseo knows Skeith's name. When I first played Rebirth I noticed that when he first "summons" him he shouts out his name and found myself asking "how's he know that?" (Also on a side note, if there is any rules section for posting in this discussion area a point in it's direction would be of great help, thanks.)--Hencho414 13:41, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

It's possible it was something his sub-conscience knew about so when he summoned Skeith he said it reflexively.--Ellimist 14:28, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

The first time he summoned it, he didn't say it's name. So a more realistic answer would be that he read it on his screen when he was in Avatar mode.

Did you know that white is the japanese color for death so when he gets his Xth form he's still associated with death,in Japan at least.--Kite X 02:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes... I feel pretty confident when I say that most of us were already aware of that. --CRtwenty 02:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

sorry...didn't know, but I read somewhere on here someone posted about him as coming to the light or somethin,nevermind.--Kite X 02:43, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that's pretty much true. Kite fused with his other half, Skeith/Sora which was shown as a very odd inverted form of Haseo. Being fused, I can assume that the legendary "Twilight" theory came into play, and Haseo's black colored avatar is white now.

By the way, I think Death is also colored as black, seeing as how Haseo is Black a lot and even Skeith is in first form, and the Grim Reaper ("Death") is a skeleton in black. But yeah, Rebirth can't happen unless Death has occurred. Rebirth is another word for Reincarnation. Ovan wears white, and his avatar is white, and even Skeith in it's original form is White.

Odd to think that both Black AND White can mean Death in some kind of way.

Ok this only ever so slightly irrelevent, shouldn't you guys take this on some .hack or forum or something?--Yondaime1987 19:47, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

So basically your playing as Sora from the original .hack games?

Not the same PC, but yes... basically. --CRtwenty 15:04, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

If Haseo has no memory of being sora after the coma, then how do you explain sora poping up in the Unison eppsisode of .Hack//Sign where sora shows up during the party?

Sora AI, or the episode not being canon. Take your pic. -Biccy 07:03, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
We don't. But if they ever do, they can pick from any of the following options:
  • It was all a weird dream Haseo had.
  • The OVA wasn't canon. The monkey dancing won't be missed.
  • It wasn't the real Sora, but the AI Sora from the games.
  • It wasn't that AI Sora, but one of the numerous memory fragments floating around, also from the games.
  • Sora suffered mid-term anterograde amnesia as well and continued playing for a while.
- Kuukai2 07:04, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
You assume in that list that the "AI Sora" from the games and the "real Sora" are different entities. I'm not so certain of that; rather, I suspect that there's only been one Sora throughout the series. --Shinsou Wotan 21:41, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Sora is very left open with Zero. A number of things could have happened to him during the time that isn't accounted for. MirageAtoli 21:54, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I know it's left open that it might be the real Sora who joins you. Of the three bonus characters, he's the only one with all his moves voiced, among other reasons. But since the Subaru you got wasn't the real Subaru, and Sora's case is left ambiguous, I see no reason why this couldn't be a possible explanation... - Kuukai2 22:53, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

But Subaru and Tsukasa seemed to have lost their memories when they join you and Sora clearly remebers everything.

See Kuukai's fourth possible explanation.--SicInfit 00:01, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
So will Haseo ever recover his memories as Sora? Greyrose 09:52, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

No, he won't. Atleast not in the foreseeable future. --AuraTwilight 12:21, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

First appearance

I know it's kinda late for me to ask this..... But wasn't it actually Haseo's 1st appearance in //Roots? --Greyrose 04:06, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
No, 1st Appearance goes by our timeline, not the series. --CRtwenty 11:20, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Didn't Roots air in Japan before GU came out? I vaguely rememeber hearing the first six episodes came out. And counting trailers is pretty nitpicky.--Biccy 17:38, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
It's true, right now we count the trailers. I guess ideally we should just list stuff in the order it was cranked out by the creators... - Kuukai2 23:54, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain that Rebirth was released before Roots started airing. --CRtwenty 02:23, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Roots came first, just look at our own Roots ("Bandai Visual and Bee-Train started broadcasting .hack//Roots on TV-Tokyo, Wednesdays at 25:30hrs on April 5th, 2006.") and Rebirth ("Japan Release Date: May 18, 2006") pages. Kula established before that trailers count in our system. - Kuukai2 03:49, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
So... which is true? I'm just kinda curious....--Greyrose 07:52, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
After doublechecking the dates, Kuukai is correct. Roots did air first. However the trailers for Rebirth outdate both of them. --CRtwenty 14:16, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, we know that, the question is whether or not the policy should be changed. - Kuukai2 21:21, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Its been weeks... You're not gonna change the 1st appearance are you?Greyrose 08:29, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Maybe if users actually contribute opinions. If I'm the only one saying anything, no, it's probably not going to change... - Kuukai2 16:33, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Well it all determines on if trailers should be considered as a "first appearance" or not. One of you should start a discussion up in the community portal about it. --CRtwenty 22:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Lost Time?

I'm posting here because I can't seem to find this anywhere, but...

For how long was Ryou Misaki aka "Sora" aka "Haseo" comatose?

I know that he was placed into a coma by being data drained by Skeith at the end of .hack//sign, was stuck inside the game for the duration of .hack//Zero and .hack//Liminality then was saved/released from Skeith's wand by Kite in .hack//Outbreak, but did not leave his comatose state until after the final battle against Corbenik in .hack//Quarantine.

What I want to know, but cannot seem to find, is how long was the duration of all of this?

if anyone can explain/reveal this to me, I will be very grateful. ~C.R

Well, according to the timeline, the events of .hack//SIGN and the .hack//Games take place within the same year. So Sora's coma would have only lasted several months. --Viscosity 05:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

What are the weapons haseo starts with on all his forms?

Form 1: Twin blade - Spin Gai Gu (Level 1)
Form 2: Edge Punisher - Broad Legged (Level 20)
Form 3: Flick Reaper - Scythe Shouxiao (Level 51)
Form 4: Dual Gunner (Not a real class, but..yeah) - DG-X (Level 101)

(Also, I have no idea when this topic was started, so if it's been here for a while, my apologies) --AzureJellybean 02:26, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Haseo in //LINK

I haven't seen much info about Haseo in LINK. So, if nobody really cares, I added some info. Feel free to remove it if you wish.

Kite and Haseo

Under "Personality" it says "Haseo is compared to Kite by both Yata and Piros"

I vaguely remember Piros comparing them, or at least mentioning Kite but i don't remember Yata saying anything about it, does anyone know when this conversation is supposed to have taken place?

Grocery Store

He also works part time at a grocery store.

Where was this from, again? - Kuukai2 07:27, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Here's something from above.

==Job== Where is this mentioned? - Some Guy 22:23, 13 January 2007 (UTC) :Episode 5 of Roots, Shino makes a little joke about it. --[[User:CRtwenty|CRtwenty]] 22:27, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Voice Actor question

Has anyone realised that Haseo's japanese voice actor was different in the early trailers compared to the games, anime and whatever else?

I mean compare the scenes where Haseo meets Azure Kite in these two clips. at 3:13 at 2:00

There is a very clear difference, so anyone know why the voice was scrapped completely?

And just my personal opinion, Takahiro Sakurai was an awesome Haseo, very hero-like. But I feel that the other unknown voice actor portrayed an "angry" Haseo better. 15:54, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
