A server is a computer system that is accessed by other computers. In The World all dungeons, fields, monsters, and treasure, namely every part of the game is stored on one of the games servers. At the center of each server is a Root Town, where players gather to form parties, buy, sell, and trade items, raise grunties, and do pretty much everything that doesn't involve fields or dungeons. Fields and other servers can be accessed from the root town through the use of the Chaos Gate, usually located in a central location of the town.
The World's Servers
There are numerous servers in The World, they include.
- Δ Delta Server, with its Root Town Mac Anu
- Θ Theta Server, with its Root Town Dun Loireag
- Λ Lambda Server, with its Root Town Carmina Gadelica
- Σ Sigma Server, with its Root Town Fort Ouph
- Ω Omega Server, with its Root Town Lia Fail
- Naval Monte, a Root Town made an appearance in Legend of the Twilight but its server name is unknown.
The World R:2's Servers
A Root Town in The World R:2
Net Slum
Though technically not a true server Net Slum exists as a gathering point for hackers and Vagrant AIs. For a short period it also took the place of Omega Server's Root Town Lia Fail.
