I've been curious about this since reading .hack//AI Buster and now I have a reason to ask it. At one point in the novel, Albireo makes a mention that the Crimson and Cobalt Knights were named after the armies of Helba and Aperion in the Epitaph of Twilight. So which army followed whom?

I don't think they ever identify it canonly. My best guess is the Crimson Knights would have followed Aperion and the Cobalt Knights followed Helba since the color Crimson is more associated with the light and Cobalt with the darkness.. 108.41.114.229 05:18, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
For some reason I felt it'd be the other way around, with the whole "red supports black" and "blue supports white" thing like comparing Haseo's first form color scheme with Ovan's. Plus going with the Cobalt Knights working directly for CC Corp as the debug team and apparently Lios being a sort of "nickname" for Apeiron (and that Aperion did make a quick appearance in Volume 1 and was actually a CC Corp employee) whereas the Crimson Knights were essentially similar to the guild Moon Tree, just a bunch of regular players who wanted to enforce the rules of the game.First Skeith (talk) 05:56, May 1, 2013 (UTC)

I'm talking about in the Epitaph of Twilight. Cause, as I said before, Alberio had mentioned in AI Buster that the two groups were named after the armies from the poem. I'm pretty sure it was never stated anywhere, and that that sentence was the only place it was even mentioned. I've reread the portions of .hack//Epitaph of the Twilight that seemed most likely to be relevant, and neither group was called by name. --Shinsou Wotan (talk) 14:50, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
