A Doppelganger (ドッペルゲンガー) is special monster in The World R:2. If a player idles for long enough in a field, a darkness-shrouded Doppelganger version of that character's PC will appear and attack them. The Doppelganger will have the same amount of HP as the player, but the rest of its stats will be higher. Defeating it earns the player the event item "Own King". The Doppelganger wields the "Menacing Clash" (刃威音) series of weapons, exclusively available to Doppelgangers.

1. The Doppelganger has access to all skills in its opponent's job. If the opponent is an Adept Rogue, it can use all skills in the job the Adept Rogue is currently using. The Doppelganger is 8 levels above the player's current level.
