Like most level 2 items, Adian's Rod can simply replace a Wavemaster's lower level weapon. If possible, it might be more beneficial to bring it to play instantly by discarding three cards of different elements, since three extra cards can be drawn in the next turn. Adian's Rod's effect can be particularly devastating. Since it only lasts one turn, it's best to copy an effect that can be used immediately, such as a monster-destroying or item-destroying effect.
